The route
End of 2005 we together with the people from the Elephant Nature Park will go to Bangkok and Surin to buy the freedom of two elephants.
First we will take sufficient time for the elephants to regain their strength and to get medical assistance. Then we will start their transfer to the Elephant Nature Park. Most long distances will be done by truck. The elephants will have to walk for a maximum of one hour a day. The elephants wellbeing will be most important at anytime. And it will be a fun time for them as well which means, taking time to bathe, playing games, having lots of good food and spending time with each other.
We will take the elephants through the heart of Thailand and they will come across some very special and touristic locations. During the transfer we will visit schools, take part in local traditions and invite guests. In this way we want to reach as many people as possible in a positive way. We hope to get to our final destination by the end of january 2006. Here the ex urban elephants will meet their new family and explore their new home: Elephant Nature Park. Elephant Nature Park!
