Program and map of Tour de Chang
Friday February 5:
- Prepare the route with signs with volunteers.
- Arrival of first participants: check in Mae Rim Lagoon or Gudi resort near the start of the route, or in Chiang Mai city.
Saturday February 6:
- - Meet bikers without transportation at ENP office. Leave the office with minibuses before 7h00 AM to join the official opening
- 8.00 AM: Official opening at Mae Rim Lagoon resort: Welcome by BTEH, introductions, safety briefing, biking instructions and explanation about water and lunch stops
- 8.30 AM: Start of Bike for Elephants 2010
- Water stop halfway
- 12.00 AM: All participants meet for lunch at the Bamboo lodge
- 1.00 PM: Leave Bamboo lodge together. Whole group meets after the hanging bridge, water stop
- Cycle as one group, around 2.00 PM enter the Elephant Nature Park together
- Bathe and feed the elephants, check in
- Video and talk about ENP and the elephants
- Donation to the ENP of the raised money
- Dinner, get to know each other around the camp fire
(For those who want to stay more luxury: There’s a beautiful resort (Baan Rurk Rapee Resort) with air con rooms near the ENP. We can drop you there in the evening and pick you up in the morning)
Sunday February 7:
- 8.00 AM Simple breakfast buffet in Elephant Nature Park
- One hour walk with elephants
- 10.30 AM Start biking
- 12:30 AM Lunch at Mae Ngat reservoir (main land)
- Around 2.00 PM long tail boats to Mae Ngat Houseboats
- Relax at the reservoir: swimming, eating, talking, drinking
- 6.00 PM boats and buses back to Chiang Mai
- 7.30 PM arrival airport – Chiang Mai city (flights to Bangkok by AirAsia at 8.15 PM or 10.20 PM)
Possibility to stay overnight at the Eakachai houseboats. Let you know if you want us to book a room.
