Number of elephants in Bangkok growing dramatically

While I’m in Bangkok working on new projects I’m constantly being painfully confronted with the load of work there’s still to be done. Daily I see baby elephants making their way through city traffic, begging at markets, standing at the exits of busy bars at night. They are almost all younger than 6 years old. The number of elephants currently in Bangkok is increasing at an explosive rate. The elephant pictured is Jumbo (6 years) from Buriram, spotted at the tourist market of Silom.
Thai Day this Wednesday published an article about the many street elephants currently in Bangkok: http://www.manager.co.th/IHT/ViewNews.aspx?NewsID=9490000051589
Bring the Elephant Home keeps fighting to make Bangkok an elephant free zone!
