Leaving Lopburi

We pack our tents just before the sun rises; and quickly eat our breakfast, before saying goodbye to the monks and the nuns. A group of them have gathered around the truck where the elephants go into. The night before, the nuns have already filled an orange colored- bucket with jackfruits, and give it to the elephants to eat while on the road. First, Silver Flower steps into the truck without much hassle, and Sri Nuan follows her at her own pace. When Sri Nuan sees the bucket filled with jackfruits, she starts picking them with her trunk. The nuns are happy to see that their gift is appreciated, and start to giggle. Too bad for Silver Flower though, because she is too small to get close to the gift. When we step into the truck with Pa Ko, we realise that Pa Ko isn’t the only puppy on board. Three white puppies were brought to the temple the day before, and Dr. Nit has adopted one. “Come back to Chiang Mai with me!” she says, so our little caravan has grown further once more! It’s not hard to find a name for the puppy, like Pa Ko, which is named after the temple we’ve stayed, and that was where we picked him up: “Monkon Prasit”, “Monkon” for short.
