Permits finally ok
Two days before departure the transportpapers finally came through! The last couple of days have been quite hectic. First we travelled along the three cities where we would like to stay for a while with the elephants (Ayuthaya, Lopburi and Sukhothai). There we looked for the perfect place for the elephants to rest at night. We found three temples with enough green, shade and water for the elephants and most important with monks who were pleased to welcome us. Apart from this we have been visiting schools in the communities around the temples for our elephant education program. People have been very enthousiastic! With the contactdetails of the three temples, the schools, the papers of the elephants, the papers of the previous owners, the id-card of manager Lee, the id-card and contract of Lek, the papers of the Elephant Nature Park, approval of Chiang Mai, letter of the vet, all roadnumbers, the id-card of the truckdriver and the number of the truck, Mr. Lee left for Surin last night. We finally made it! Friday night we will leave with the rest of the elephantteam, to be with the elephants Christmas morning. Then we are gonna make camp, and at night we will sit around a cosy campfire having our Christmas dinner, with a full Christmas buffet for the elephants as well ofcourse!
