Piggy banks for elephants
Last week Hanna Jongepier organised a charity dinner for buying bananas for the elephants later on in Thailand. A table full of Asian quisine, and a piggy bank for donations. Total amount raised: 400 euro’s! Let’s count….8500 kilo’s of bananas??
A man from Saint Petersburg was touched so much by the message about the temple elephant in Chiang Mai that he asked if Bring the Elephant HOME could buy him free too and he offered his savings to help! His piggy bank wasn’t full enough to save an elephant but we are very grateful for his gesture!
Mercedes Klein (12) is organising a Sinterklaasparty for all of family. She suggested that the presents would be things that wouldn’t cost anything and that money saved would go to charity. They picked two charities: blankets for Afghanistan and Bring the Elephant HOME! Great one Mercedes!
