Interview with a Thai film-star

The interview for ITV is done by a Thai film-star. I felt quite uncomfortable in my elephant outfit when the star appeared with his styled hair and make-up. We first spoke sitting along the riverside, looking at the elephants bathing, and talked about the ENP and my project. He already knew everything about my plans and was very enthousiastic about it. When the film team is ready with the preparations for the interview, we are fetched. The film-star presents my project in a very positive way and shows a lot of respect. I get the chance to explain the whole plan. To the most difficult question that he asks: ‘Are you against making money on elephants?’ I had a good answer; I explain that I am not at all against it, as the mahouts need money to take care of their elephants. That is why we promote animal-friendly eco-tourism during the walk, and ask for support for places like the Elephant Nature Park. During the interview he thanks me on behalf of the whole of Thailand, for everything I do for their country! He hopes that all Thai will help to make the project successfull. Phew, I hope that more Thai people will react like this! And I also hope, that this interview wil appear on TV, as this is a very good promotion for the Bring the Elephant HOME project!
